PROPOSED CHANGE TO THE CONSTITUTION OF KANSAS STATE FLORISTS’ ASSOCIATION

Please read over carefully as we will vote on this change at State Convention.

ARTICLE 3

Membership

            Section 1. Membership shall be open to all persons engaged in the business of growing, selling and marketing of cut flowers, plants, permanent flowers and floral accessories such as pottery, ribbon, etc.

                        A. Retail shall constitute flower shops which
                            engage in the commerce of both
                            fresh and permanent materials, have delivery service,
                                      also meet membership requirements for any wire 
                            service.

                        B. Wholesale – Individuals, growers, or firms
                            engaged in the commerce of supplying floral
                            products to retail shops.

                        C. Individual – Individual employed continuously 
                            for at least one year at a primarily retail floral 
                            location within the State of Kansas and shall be 
                            classified as an associate member.

 Proposed Change

ADD:   D. Student- Individual enrolled in a high school, technical school, college, or design school floral class. A student membership must be accompanied by a letter from the course instructor or school administrator confirming enrollment and attendance. A student membership will be classified as an associate member.
